N. W. Ivy League

Ivy League is a charmer! This 2 year old filly has class to spare- big suspenseful trot, strong hindquarters, and her mother's georgeous head! Bay curly that will have a full, bushy mane and tail.

Leads, ties, LOVES to load on the trailer, & is practicing standing quietly for the farrier. Ivy is a VERY calm girl who loves attention and affection.

This filly is bred to perform. Her dam is Silver Red Ebony, the producer 2 ABCR national champions and her Sire is Y.S. Kinyobi, producer of top Bashkir Curly foals. Sire is 15 hands high, dam is 15.2 with a record of producing horses taller than herself, by shorter stallions. Both parents are ABCR registered and DNA tested.

It's very rare that a horse with *Red Baron breeding comes on the market- don't miss this chance to own a filly out of proven performance/dressage lines.

Ivy has medium curl- marcel wave in the summer, medium wavy curls in the winter, and a cute fuzzy mane and tail. (which she keeps year round)

Asking $2000.

Kawaii
ABCR Reg #3719

Gaited Curly Filly with Unique Bloodlines

*Y.S. Kawaii offers totally unique bloodlines to the gaited curly breeder- No Curly Jim or Prince bloodlines. Add genetic diversity to your program without outcrossing or risking losing gait. Kawaii naturally gaits around the farm but also has a true walk, trot, and canter.

I have for sale a dark dapple grey gaited Bashkir Curly mare, about 15 Hands. She is three years old and was imported from Canada in 2007. She has a nice smooth foxtrot naturally, but also has a decent trot and a very nice walk and canter. With training she could be a w/t/c horse or would easily train to gait only.

This mare would be ideally suited for trail or an older kid's 4-H horse. She's always the first up in the pasture and loves people. She has been handled extensively, is super easy to catch and lead, ties well, she's excellent about loading in a trailer (I've loaded her along side busy roads, in the dark, etc), desensitized to flags, flapping tarps, traffic, dogs, chickens. She's been to her first overnight show and placed well in halter classes and she has gone to Pony Club and done breed demos. She's great for the farrier and excellent around children. In the winter she's one I can just toss a blanket on and fasten without having to tie her. I have never once seen this young mare spook, you can pretty much do anything to her without fuss- I expect saddle breaking her to be entirely without fuss.

Her name is Kawai (Japanese for super-cute). I paid $3500 for her as a weanling and I am asking $2250 OBO. If you are thinking there is a catch, you are a little bit right. I want to disclose two things: 1. Kawai fell on concrete and bruised her hip bone when she was a weanling, favoring that hip that spring, the muscles developed unevenly and caused her to have issues with a locking stifle. My equine vet says there is an extremely good chance that if correctly and regularly worked it will go away on its own, and if it does not there is a simple, inexpensive surgery any equine vet can do that would prevent the stifle from locking again. #2. Kawai is not recommended as a breeding prospect. She has outstanding lines for a curly so I bred her for a 2010 foal. She delivered a healthy foal and then rejected it. It was her first, so the next time could be different, but she would need to be monitored extremely closely.

This mare is a Bashkir Curly with an outstanding coat. In the summer she looks "normal" and the winter hair all over her body will be tightly curled. Her mane grows and coils into dreadlocks. This breed is HYPOALLERGENIC (I am deathly allergic to horses but have no reaction to curlies.) This is a fun breed to own if you LOVE being the center of attention wherever you take your horse! Read more about curlies here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curly_Horse Kawaii is fully registered with the more exclusive of the two curlies registries, the American Bashkir Curly Registry.

Spot O Rust
ABCR registered & DNA tested

For sale is 'Rusty' my 6 year old extremely rare leopard appaloosa marked American Bashkir Curly stallion. Rusty is 15 hands tall with lots of bone and old bloodlines ( http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/spot+o+rust ) He is fully registered and DNA tested with the ABCR. Rusty keeps a full mane and tail year round.

Rusty has sired 4 foals out of solid and/or non-curly mares and all four were born with curls and loud appaloosa coloring (2 blankets, 2 leopards). Rusty was ranch bred and ranch raised, but is remarkably easy to handle, considering. He's still a stallion, but he's easy to lead, load, tie, etc and is managable and sane being handled around mares. He has covered mares while on a lead. He is not my easiest horse to catch, but a bucket of grain or bringing him into a stall makes it quick.

Rusty is very potent, I haven't had him collected and fertility checked, but I put three mares out with him in '09 and all three mares foaled this spring within 3 days of each other- indicating he caught all of them on the first cycle. He is safe and sane to breed loose in the pasture & has manners with mares.

Rusty has spent time with a trainer and then on a working ranch and is saddle broke, although both his trainer and handler on the ranch agree he will probably always need a advanced rider (he's not at all mean, but he tends to panic if he feels trapped and his rider isn't responsive enough to think ahead of him and give him an out). Rusty's favorite use is pulling a cart! They discovered at the ranch that he loves working in harness and his issues under saddle mostly disappear when he's hitched. He still needs very soft hands. He is quiet, soft, and polite in harness. The lady who has had him the last two months hitched him up and drove him through open pastures.

Rusty is priced at $3500 OBO just because I really need him gone. I'm moving away from breeding and I don't really have enough room on my farm to keep him hapilly seperated from my 4 open mares. He just came back from training on July 21st and is having to stay in the round pen with his one bred mare.

AM Hell's Bells
ABCR #1371

Bazy is one of just a handful of Bashkir Curlies left that were bred by Bazy Tankersly and qualified for full ABCR papers. Bazy is half arabian and a proven producer of elite Endurance horses as well as sport horses.

Bazy's offspring include a son reserve listed for the 2004 United States Equestrian Team and a filly who was inspected and given a CSI Premium rating.

Bazy had minimal handling most of her life but had extensive professional training in 2008-2009 and can now be caught, haltered, led, and flymasked by a handler once she trusts them (she reponds well to being worked in a round pen) and accepts having her feet handled and trailer loads well. (almost without hesitation if she can self load, slower if led in)

Bazy is 20 this spring but is in excellent condition and is sound to breed. (because she was not bred consistently or broke to ride, physically she should be capable of breeding and foaling) She's a great mare that we have used to babysit weaned foals. We always really wanted a foal out of her (we never tried breeding her) but my job has changed and left me with no time for managing mares so we are hoping to sell to someone who will help her pass her genes another time or two.

Bazy is NOT an easy horse to handle, that is why she is priced so low. She is NOT mean, not a bit- but we're working againts 16 years of her being feral or mishandled so she will always need a handler who is patient and willing to work with her in a positive way.

Priced at $400. Negotiable to a great home.

Amazing Seasoned Show Horse FOR LEASE

I have an outstanding "bombproof" 11 year old gelding for lease. "Regal" is 16 hands and my absolute dream horse but life has me out of the show ring and out of the saddle and I hate to see him bored.

Regal is a registered American Bashkir Curly. In the summer he looks "normal", but in the winter the hair all over his body will be tightly curled. His mane grows and coils into dreadlocks. This breed is HYPOALLERGENIC (I am deathly allergic to horses but have no reaction to curlies.) This is a fun breed to ride if you LOVE being the center of attention wherever you take your horse! Read more about curlies here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curly_Horse

Performance: Regal has shown 1st level dressage. He's done games (he's not very fast, though!), western, parades, arena jumping, cross country jumping, pulled a cart, and won halter classes as well as taking me on many rides down trails and down country roads. He was the breed registry's National Overall Performance Champion in 2007 and took reserve in 08 & 09. He's an absolute pleasure to ride with an easy-to-sit trot and a rocking horse canter. I'd frequently drop my reins and ride him all over. He has a little bit of a stubborn steak, to really make him work "correct" (dressage-y, collected, up off his forehand) requires a little assertiveness to earn his respect, but I got him as an absolute beginner and we've worked out just fine.

Regal has been to shows all over the place- IN, KY, TX, etc. He was a demo horse at Breyerfest in 2008 where I rode him daily at the Kentucky Horse Park before an audience of 1000+ plus.

Personality/Handling: This horse has been handled to death, and it shows. He leads, loads, ties, bathes, clips, etc with absolutely no fuss. We usually cross tie him for the farrier and he naps. He has never kicked at horse or human and just about nothing spooks him. (his former owner shot guns off him!) when he does spook, he spooks in place, and then calms right down. He pretty much ground ties, and I can lead him around with no halter or lead. He is VERY food motivated and is a super easy keeper. He is very healthy, I've never had any major health problems with him. He shows and trail rides with mares with no fuss.

He rides best direct reining in a full cheek french link bit (I'll include his with the lease) and I use a kimberwick when I need extra security (parades, big demos, etc) but he rides mostly off your body- turning away from leg pressure, etc.

Regal is a perfect mount for a kid/teen/woman. He's ideal because he's so easy going, but requires you really ride to get the best performance. He has taught me so much. He'd be perfect as a 4-H or Pony Club horse.

Price for lease is $175/month. This fee includes major medical/mortality insurance to protect all parties. Leasee is responsible for shoes, if needed, and any extra expenses (show entry fees, etc) Leasee must provide a safe home for him and take a lesson or two with me and my trainer so you can learn his buttons and we can make sure it's a good fit.

NW Hemingway -

Now THIS foal is an eyecatcher!! Stunningly leopard as a foal, I'm guessing there's a good chance this guy is going to go grey eventually.

This big, bold boy is out of Silver Red Ebony, 2 time ABCR National Champion Producer and Spot O Rust, registered ABCR stallion. Both parents are ABCR registered and DNA tested. Dam is 15.2 hh, sire is 15 hh. The dame has a history of throwing bigger foals than herself by shorter studs. (my 16h gelding, out of Ebony, was sired by a 15 hh stud) I say this because Hemi gives every indication that he'll be a bigger boy. Definitely 15.2, possibly 16 hands.

Hemi is 6 weeks old and halters and leads and was worked with constantly his first few weeks of life (I emphasize lots of early work "cradling" and blocking them when they are small enough to be held, so they learn humans are stronger) He's tolerated baths, fly spray, and been around lots of kids. He is a calm, easy to handle baby. By weaning he will know how to tie and load in a trailer.

I wean at 6 months, but will wean at 5 months if buyer prefers. With down payment, I will sell on contract and accept payments until weaning.

"Hemi" is an American Bashkir Curly. In the summer he'll look "normal", but in the winter the hair all over his body will be curled. His mane will likely grow and coil into dreadlocks. This breed is HYPOALLERGENIC (I am deathly allergic to horses but have no reaction to curlies.) This is a fun breed to ride if you LOVE being the center of attention wherever you take your horse! NW Beatrix -

'Bea' was foaled June 3, 2010. She is a bay filly with a white appaloosa blanket and one white sock. Judging from her current appearance, she will varnish roan. Dam is Noble Debutante, 14.2hh American Bashkir Curly Registry's 2008 In Hand National Champion, sire is Spot 'O Rust- our 15hh leopard appaloosa herd stallion. Trixie carries Red Baron lines on her grand-dam's side. She is a curious, docile, and very ladylike filly. Both parents are registered and DNA tested with the ABCR.

She halters and leads and was worked with constantly her first few weeks of life (I emphasize lots of early work "cradling" and blocking them when they are small enough to be held, so they learn humans are stronger) she's tolerated baths, fly spray, and been around lots of kids. She is a calm baby but has a little spunk. (Her mother was a wild child as a foal but by 2 was my absolute most patient, calm mare) By weaning she will know how to tie and load in a trailer.

I wean at 6 months, but will wean at 5 months if buyer prefers. With down payment, I will sell on contract and accept payments until weaning.

Priced at $1800. Negotiable to a great home.
